A gutted bathroom produces a dense mix: tile, thinset, cement board, a vanity, a toilet, wet drywall. It looks like a small pile and weighs like a big one, which is the 10's home turf — a single full bathroom demo typically lands within the included ton. Doing two bathrooms, or adding flooring from the hallway while you're at it? That's when the 15's extra half ton starts earning its keep.

Single-car garage cleanout — the 15

Garage junk is the opposite problem: shelving, bikes, boxes, patio furniture, the treadmill nobody used. It's light, it's awkward, and it refuses to stack tight, so about three pickup loads of capacity disappears faster than you'd think. A garage that's merely messy can absolutely go in a 10 — but if you're clearing years of accumulation wall to wall, the 15 is the honest recommendation.

Attic purge — the 10

Attics hold less than people remember. Boxes of clothes, holiday decorations, old paperwork — most attic purges in Marion County come down to two or three pickup loads of light material, squarely a 10 yard job. Concrete and dirt take this logic to its endpoint. A single cubic yard of broken concrete weighs about two tons, which is why clean heavy fill — concrete, dirt, sand, rock, block — goes in the 10 yard only. A bigger container loaded with it becomes too heavy for our truck to lift legally, and no amount of unused wall height fixes that.
