Renovations don't produce debris steadily. They produce it in bursts — demo day fills a third of a container in a morning, then nothing happens for four days while plumbing and electrical run, then cabinetry packaging arrives all at once. The container has to be there for the whole arc, which is why our flat rate includes 14 days rather than charging by the day and pressuring you to rush.

Sizing a Renovation

The 20 yard covers the overwhelming majority of residential remodels: a full kitchen gut with cabinets and counters, one or two bathrooms, whole-house flooring, or a couple of rooms taken back to the studs. Step up to the 30 yard for a whole-home renovation where several rooms are being done at once and cabinetry, flooring and fixtures all leave together. Drop to a 10 yard if the job is mostly tile and mortar — a single bathroom stripped to the studs is dense enough that the small can is the right answer.

Living in the House While It Happens

Most remodels happen around people still living there, and that changes the placement question. The container wants to be close to the work but not blocking the door you actually use, and not where it strands a car behind it for two weeks. We place on boards to protect the driveway — worth insisting on when the can will sit loaded for a fortnight — and we'll position it to keep your access clear. If the driveway genuinely can't spare the room, a right-of-way placement may need a permit from the City of Ocala or Marion County; our permit guide covers it.

The Order Things Come Out

A practical note that saves money: load heavy first. Demo debris — tile, mortar, plaster — should go in at the bottom while there's room to place it, not thrown on top of a mound of cabinetry at the end. Break down cabinet boxes and packaging rather than tossing them intact; a flattened cabinet run takes a fraction of the space. And if the job produces genuinely dense material in quantity, tell us and we'll bring a 10 yard for it separately rather than letting it eat the weight allowance on your main can.

What Can and Can't Go In

Cabinetry, countertops, flooring, drywall, tile, fixtures, trim, doors, windows and general renovation debris are all fine. Out: wet paint and stain, solvents, adhesives and caulk in liquid form, fuels, batteries and aerosols. Old appliances containing Freon need separate handling — tell us and we'll sort it. On a pre-1980s Ocala home, treat old flooring adhesive and pipe lagging as a possible asbestos risk and have it tested before demolition rather than after.
