Sizing a Job Site Honestly

Construction and demolition debris is usually bulky rather than dense — framing offcuts, sheathing, drywall, cabinetry, packaging, window and appliance cartons — which is why the 30 yard dumpster is our default recommendation for a single-family build. It absorbs the volume of a whole build without a swap, and it still fits a normal residential lot.

Two exceptions matter. Dense material — concrete, block, dirt, tile, roofing — needs a 10 yard dumpster regardless of how much of it there is, because weight rather than space is the constraint. And on large or multi-unit work with genuine volume and open access, a 40 yard dumpster gives the best cost per cubic yard we offer. Most builders end up running a big can for bulk and a 10 alongside it for the heavy corrections.

Swaps Are the Whole Service

Anyone can drop a container. What matters on a live site is the turnaround when it fills, and whether that happens on the day you need it or two days later. We schedule swaps around your trade calendar rather than ours — set the rotation when you book and the empty arrives before the full one becomes a problem. On multi-lot work across a subdivision we'll run a route so several sites stay clear on the same pass.

Flat Rates, Tonnage Included, No Surprise Weight Bills

Every container we deliver includes its disposal tonnage in the flat rate — 1 ton on a 10 yard through 4 tons on a 40 — with the overage rate stated up front rather than discovered on an invoice. For a contractor that predictability is the point: you can price a job knowing the waste line, and you're not absorbing a weight charge nobody quoted. There's no fuel surcharge and no environmental fee bolted on afterwards.

Placement on a Live Site

Give us the site address and a sense of the access when you book and we'll flag a problem before the truck rolls rather than after. The things that stop a delivery are usually overhead — power drops, low canopy, scaffolding — or ground conditions after rain. We place on boards where the surface warrants it, and on a finished driveway near handover that isn't optional. If the can needs to sit in the right-of-way rather than on the lot, the City of Ocala or Marion County may require a permit; our permit guide covers it.

What Can't Go In a Construction Container

No hazardous material: paint (wet), solvents, adhesives in liquid form, fuels, oils, batteries, tires, aerosols. No asbestos — and on any renovation of a pre-1980s building that's a real question rather than a formality, because asbestos in flooring, mastic, pipe lagging and some sheet products was routine. It cannot go in a roll-off and needs licensed abatement. Freon-bearing equipment needs separate handling. Everything else that comes off a normal build is fine, and we pull clean metal, wood and cardboard for diversion wherever the facility accepts it.

Shingles and concrete: read this before you pick a size

The size table above is for normal C&D debris — framing, sheathing, drywall, cabinetry, packaging. Roofing and masonry break the rule. A roof tear-off is dense: asphalt shingles stack up to the weight limit long before a 30 or 40 yard is full, and concrete, block, tile and dirt are worse. Putting those in a big can does not get you more capacity; it gets you a can we cannot legally lift and an overage bill. Load shingles into a 20 yard (or a 10 yard for a small roof) and put concrete, dirt and masonry in a 10 yard only.
